Magic the gathering - My friday night magic experience

Hi guys, just so you know... i am playing magic the gathering and about 2 weeks ago my local store started to turn into a DCI compatible fun place... so the FNM started two weeks ago with a booster draft which unfortunetly couldn't be on !

but last week was a standard TYPE 2 game as all FNM will be...

its funny... i thought my DECK wouldn't hold his own in that tournament !
thing is... i survived the first 3 rounds and got into the 8 out of 16 people to actually fight for the first place !

ok here goes my fights...
first i fight a TYPE 2 MODIFIED TNT deck, basically that deck puts up lots of mana and gets creatures of stations out for the kill !
not to mention i totally owned the guy with my proteus/charbelcher deck...

so the first game goes to me easily...
second game goes to him, i was mana screwed and couldn't play anything... thus i was owned !
so the second game goes to him...

third and final match goes to me, changed my kill from GOBLIN CHARBELCHER to DARKSTEEL COLOSSUS and PLATINUM ANGEL... sided a few things so i can try and be more accurate against his deck.

what a match, he almost killed me, but i had this platinum angel in play so even if he sucessfully brought me down to less then 0 life points... the angel kept me from dying ! 4 turns later i had to draw something for he had this creature who could destroy my platinum and if that happens i would be dead cause i was under the 1 life point bar. i draw my card, lok at my mana and play what i can to survive one more turn... i keep two lands untapped...

his turn he activates his goblin replica and destroys my platinum, but wait a sec... what's that card i just drew ? yep its SQUELCH, which ables me to counter one ability and draw a card... i played it and boom game lost for him, he saysd its my turn and boom i attack him with an 11/11 trampling creature which he can't destroy nor block thus reducing him under the 0 mark...

third and final game goes to me... conclusion 2 to 1 for me, i get my 3 points int he tourney for winning this round...

next round wasn't tough tho it was more heavily based on luck then anything else...
playing against the RED DECK WIN deck... its an all around buRN spell deck he burned my ass for the whole match until i am left with only 4 points of life out of 20 ! but then, he lacked luck, he ran out of steam and i had just started to kick his adss !

so first turn goes to me...
i side and play the same strategy... unfortunetly the deck let me down, i couldn't find anything worth it... but lucky me he couldn't either... he burned me to around 2 to 4 life points against and ended up getting killed by colossus !

ending round... 2 to 0 for me, i won my second round in the tournament !

third match... hmmm... worst case scenario...
i am left at the mercy of an artifact based deck with a kill that appears on turn 3 reguardless of what i do !
turn 3 comes, i am dead meat couldn't survive the blow !
second round i sided most of my 15 cards... i hate AFFINITY decks...

the game doesn't go up to the third game... i get my ass handed to me 2 to 0 !

to be in the top 8 i had to win 2 of the three games and i did !
now the points doesn't count anymore... were in an old fasionned bracket type match...

my first game gets me out of the tourney... well it still is a record for me, i had gone up to the top 8 which i never did before... thing is play agaist another AFFINITY DECK those are the worst with their fliping third turn kill !

first game i lost...
my butt handed to me without even trying to survive (shame on me for keeping that starting hand)
next game, the second one, my butt handed to me ? why not quite i had him where i wanted him to be... i sussessfully survived the turn 3 kill and placed an ISOCHRON SCEPTER in place with a ETHEREAL HAZE on it... that gave me the lockdown on his creatures and thus he couldn't kill me anymore !

unfortunetly he had a second win condition in his deck, that i knew of... shame on me i didn't do anything against it when i knew he would kill me with it... i had 7 life points, he couldn't kill me with one shrapnel blast card, he had to get two and 1 out of 4 were already gone. how was a chance for him to get both copy at the same time. i had all the time in the world to kill him with my colossus ! so i'm there waiting the only card missing for me to instant kill him... but 5 to 6 turns later, the card neede still didn't came... so i give him the turn... he draws his card, he plays it and ables him to draw another two cards... howbad could it be ? he drewboth the cards he needed , he drew two cards and both were the very same shrapnel blast !

game lost for me...
2 to 0 for him i'm out of the tourney !
i still check my next cards just to see when i would have won... guess what, the card was my next draw... how unlucky i was...

and there it ended with me having only 6 points and the guy who killed me out of the tourney winning the tourney ending it with a blazing 14 points !

that's how my first FRIDAY NIGHT MAGIC tourney was up to !
guess i was more lucky then my cousin and friend... my cousin won against a deck even worst then his... and my friend never even had a chance to get points !

man... i can't wait till next friday to get my revenge on those pesky AFFINITY decks... there my worst case scenario but now that i modded my deck i am ready for them !

and you guys, what are your MAGIC THE GATHERING experiences ?

think its stupid... well i think not... its a card game and its a great dueling system, unlike yugioh and pokemon, thou pokemon was a bit basic it still was a good game in itself... thou too basic !

when i wrote this i wrote it to make a thread about something else then, did you like ken or who would you vote for thread, i made this thread for the heck of having a real conversation, not having a whole lot of stupid comments, and yes two comments that are stupid is considered a lot by yours truly !

so next time post something less retarded please !

some guys i know are like old and they still play video game *is that any different*? as long as Karma has fun playing the magic cards of w/e then its fine. the rest of you can flip off really :sarcasm:
