Zanbato - My favorite weapon.

The Zanbato ("horse-slaying sword" or "horse-chopping saber"), also spelled zanbatou or zambatou, was an especially large type of sword used in the Sengoku Period in Japan, consisting of a large blade on a pole. It was invented to combat cavalrymen by cutting their horses out from under them, or by killing horse and rider in a single blow. The zanbato ; only stayed in service for a short period of time as it proved far too heavy for normal use, often requiring two people to wield.

The zanbato ; is mostly known today as the trademark weapon of Sagara Sanosuke, one of the characters in the anime and manga Rurouni Kenshin, although he only uses it for a brief period.

The historical zanbato ; was much shorter and smaller than the one featured in the anime, being about half blade and half handle (while the blade alone on Sanosuke's weapon is taller than he is, and accounts for 3/4 of the length of the weapon).

Character's I myself SBYRD5 respect that use The famous Zanbato.

If you look in my banner the character Zack from f7 uses this weapon.

And yes you can guess....

Sagara Sanosuke

also when I played soul Calibur I noticed...this character used a Zanbato as one of his many weapons..

haha its all good byrd. when i firsted watched kenshin back then i got hooked all on dat stuff.

but i didnt think that the blade really existed. well i was debate'n if it did or didnt. damn man, now i want that sword :down:

You can also get that weapon in Fable, 'cept it's in the CLEAVER line of weapons, the strongest being the legendary Cutless Bluetane. Look cool as hell, but they're either the worst/second worst weapon line in the game.

i always fort the guy in ur sig was cloud but wid is hair changed to black becus zack as much longer hair then cloud oh an does auron from f10 use dat or is that a nother sword

What a nice sword. Looks chunky though, it must weigh a ton.
