Lag problem

I thought of a way that we can fix the lag problem i think.

Make a server for modems and a server for dsl and cable modem.

Before you entered the server it should check your average ping and its lower than its supposed to be it wont let you in the dsl server but it will let you in the 56k modem and 28k modem servers.

We would still keep the other servers for the people wo do'nt mind the lag but i think this would be a great idea if its possible.

I am not a computer master so can someone tell me if this is possible?

A topic has been made like this and the answer was "no"..

Example: What if a person that has Cable is in rank 1.. and people want to play him/her and they have 56k, it wouldnt be fair because they cant play him/her because him/her has cable :biggrin:

Another reason: What if he/she owned every1 that has cable.. he/she will always be a "CHAMPION" (not fair) :biggrin:

However, if they would have a "Rank System" for 56k users,Cable users,dsl,etc.. but i doubt it :biggrin:

y spend lots of money on something that may not work stop complaining leave things like thay are we already have problems with servers already and we donot even have anough servers because 2 of theam we cant get into

This is an excellent idea. I was thinking about this feature the other day as a matter of fact.

just because you have a fast internet connection does not mean that two people have equal performance out of their computers.

also they would have to live close-by to minimize lag in the way you're thinking of.

a better idea would be to have chatrooms divided into separate parts of the country (assuming that the majority of SFO players live in the US)
