Chat rooms - Limit to users

Repeatedly the sfo server gets so crowded that it begins to slow down and lagg up..

For instance I'd type sumptin and it wont show up for about 10 seconds, because of all the people in the room..

Maybe a limit feature could be set for the working servers

Sfo=25
sfo back up=30
sfo tourney=35

and if thats still too high a number try dropping them by 5 if youlike...

this idea could go either way

yeah wut ifur looking for someone, or if all the servers are full but tourney and vips are forced to fight without perks.

the thing that needs to be fixed is people are stupid and just sit in the server and talk, when they should just host a game, or go to one of the empty servers.

I agree that the servers are lagged sometimes, but do you think that would be a good idea? If there were a limit ofusers to each server, that would mean that if they were full and someone would want to play...they couldn't. They could add more servers, but I dont think that will happen. Also, if there was a limit ofusers to each server, what if people just sat on the server all day without fighting? I't wouldn't allow the people who wanted to fight, fight.

I don't know, maybe that's just my oppinion. You'r idea is good though, trying to finding a way to eliminate some of the lag.

Yes nice idea but you forgot something There are 1,000s of people playing all around the world this game some times 100 at the same time

I believe the limit is 50 for each server, unless something's been changed in my absence.

yeah he is right i tell my friends in sfo go to the second server and i talk to them no lag at all

raddaman0628 is right

in the event ofus getting 1.8 million hits in one month (ala: last Feb) ... those "limits" are not going to cut it...

also, while there are 3 server names, in actuality we only have 2 servers (Backup and Tournament servers are both hosted by me) :biggrin:

as of now, DOR's limit is set at 50, while Back/Tourney have a limit of 300...

in theory, a limit of 50 can probably handle 100+ active players (since they only join the chat server for a few seconds, before picking a game... after that, they are no longer connected to chat)

the real solution is to have more chat servers... but.. that's an old problem we are still trying to overcome :biggrin:

tmyapp idon't mean to tell you how 2 run your show, but could you make a chat room 4 all of the people who loves to talk because most of the people that's in therer wants 2 talk and if the not about to fight and smackdown/infinity just catches just kick them out and they'll evenyually learn if they get tired of being kicked every 5 to 10 mins i know i would

Yeah. All those people who just sit and chat... that really bogs down the servers and makes them run way too slow. WHY DONT THEY USE AIM or MSN or YAHOO to chat!!! SFO isnt a place to just sit and chat with people! Its a game for crying out loud! Sheesh!
