first, to console gamers. Any of you out there still addicted to old school SNES/N64 etc games, but the game malfunctions a lot?
I've got some good news. The usual problem is that the connectors are just getting corroded. Cleanin em with alcohol can only do so much, but there IS a fix. You need polishing grit. http://www.easypckits.com sells packets of 10,000 grit polishing compound (ie, theres like 10000 grains of "sand" per sq. cm!!!!) for $0.25 each plus $1 shipping. Each packet has enough stuff to clean the conectors on well over 15 games. All you do, is get a Q-tip, wet it down, squeeze most of the water out, and dip it into the compound. Then, rub away at those connectors. Be sure to rotate the Q-tip, as it will remove a LOT of crud. Afterwards, be sure to go over the connectors with the clean side of the Q tip to remove the remainin compound. Now, for you PC enthusiasts. Into overclocking, but need better cooling? For like $10, you can make yer heatsink perform a LOT (ie, 5+ deg. Celsius) better Http://www.easypckits.com mainly sells heatsink lapping kits. They are VERY effective, and maximize the connection between heatsink and processor by removing microscopic ridges and valleys, and by flattening the heatsink. Plus, it makes the heatsink shiny XD Anywho, what about the service, you may ask... The seller is VERY helpful, and fast. In terms of speed, he responds to emails within a day, and ships super fast. I bought a kit one day, and 2 days later, it showed up (from alabama to virginia via USPS). I paid $4 shipping, and the US postage on the package was $3.96....he isnt makin more than pennies on shipping. He goes out of his way to make you satisfied, and I GOTTA recommend this guy. Any thoughts? post away PS--if you dont buy from him, youre banned  Edited By viper2040 on May 01 2004 at 18:19

Just do the old "Blow in the cartridge"... always got the job done. Those cartridges are durable... The only time you would want to use this compound would be if your game kept erasing.

listen, blowing the game gets out dust. What about when moisture causes mildew, or corrosion, or oxidation, or just crud build up on the SNES/NES/N64 (etc) connectors?
When you gotta get off serious staining, use this shit. If the connectors on yer NES game arent shiny copper, then you have a problem (thats right, theyre not actually supposed to be green or grey or dull  ) also, i recommend opening up the case with a security bit, if you have one, to make sure the grit dont get inside and that you can get dust out. finally, STAY on TOPIC!
