I mentioned in an earlier post that I was out of the Street Fighter games for a while due to circumstances beyond my control. I have a Japanese version of Capcom vs. SNK 2 for the Dreamcast, but some things don't seem right. Some of the names are mixed up (or so it seems).
Vega's name is Balrog. Balrog's name is M. Bison. M. Bison's name is Vega. Did I miss a major part of the storyline? Are they supposed to be mixed up like this? I'd look in the manual if I could, but that was lost (I got this game second-hand from my older brother). Ryu and Ken seem older, so I suppose that this game happens (separate storyline) around the time of Street Fighter III. Please fill me in if you can.

MASTERMAX, this was purchased before it was released in America. I would never download games for the DreamCast, so don't assume that again. If I can find the game for real, I buy it. I also purchased MvC2, and I am searching for Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike.
But Selvin, does that mean that those names were always like that in Japan? That, during translation, the translators just felt that the names needed to be mixed up?

Where do you live that you cant find Capcom vs. Snk2 in American style. I have found some English/American versions of the game at a nearby Wal-Mart and in Funcoland in Maryland. Do you have a Funcoland near you?

Umm, just wondering. Have any of you ever been inside an actually arcade with only arcade games, because if you play at a Wal-Mart, do you get to play good people??

First off it is S-E-L-V-I-N, not S-E-L-V. Sorry, but it jsut ticks me off. When I mean an arcade, I don't mean one in a mall, I mean a building that has strictly only arcade games.

Nonono, steventhebol. It was purchased before it was released in America. My older brother was impatient and ordered it from Japan. The announcer is always speaking English, the names are in English, but basically all of the other text is in Japanese Kanji and Katakana (two of the Japanese alphabets).
Selvin, it isn't in the arcades where I am, either. There isn't even a dedicated building for arcades around here (of this I am sure). My brother is pretty good, though... even though I beat his Shin Gouki (S. Gouki in the game) with Dan Hibiki. I guess he needs to work on his Gouki skills... he kills me with everybody else, though. Dang, is it hard to get the Shun Goku Satsu to work on the controller! Anyways, when I said that I beat Shin Gouki with Dan before, that was the case. I am working on beating the CPU max level Shin Gouki with Dan, but... *painful thoughts flash through mind* it isn't working so far. He is so insanely powerful when he shows up at the end of the game (weighted fight). His 33-hit Shun Goku Satsu kills you no matter what, his throws take off half your life, and no matter what the difficulty is set to he fights at the maximum level! Needless to say, it hurts.
