so who plays that game ?
here is what i have for deck...
it's a BLUE, RED, BLACK deck !
i maily have blue card but i got a minimum of RED and BLACK cards as well !

in total i have 110 cards to make myself a clean 60 CARD DECK.
my favorites cards up to now are my strongest...
SANDBAR CROCODILE
and
GERRARD'S IRREGULAR
there is others but i don't quite feel like taking my deck out just to see the names !

i don't play much, only my cousin has bought a deck as well !
anyway...
what i like to, is the little QUOTES in certain cards !

Wow, Sandbar Crocodile is an old card. From Mirage. Its has 6 for power and 5 for defense. Its casting cost is like... One blue and 4 colorless. But it has phasing. The Shock Troops are in the Mercadian Masques block. I forget which set though. Maybe Nemesis. But they are one red and 3 colorless to cast. And have a 2 for toughness and power. Sacrifice them at any time and deal 2 damage to target creature or player. Effectively that card can deal 4 damage by itself.



As you can see I used to play this game a lot. In organized tournaments and everything, And I was pretty good. :buttrock:

i know its an old card, i bought it like 4 years ago from a friend who showed how to play it, i knew what it was but never tryed to learn it !

he had been playing for 3 or 4 years back then, after he teched me and he built a deck for me form is CARDS he had, the deck wasn't so strong, but he hadded a lot of RED card that enabled me to touch the PLAYER LIFE POINT directly, so it made my day a little stronger ! he placed hiw loved CROCODILE in and his GERRARDS which was two of his powerfull monsters, but he didn't used them cause he had things similar to them !

and so i bought my first deck for 7$
it was an old deck, still i was glad to have a deck and i was playing against him all time. winning one time out of 5 !
then i bought my INVASION deck ! which gave me my BLACK CARDs. now i have 110 cards and i mixed up my old deck with the new one, adding things and removing others !

my cousin just bought a deck...
its the deck a certain BRIAN SELDEN used in SEATLE in the WORLD CHAMPION TOURNAMENT in 1998 !
believe me, since he's new to this i defeated him 1 time, but now that know how to play and sice i had to translate all of his card into french. he knows them and believe me... one fliping card and i am sure to lose the match !

he has a card that ables him to destroy all island on the filed, since he doesn't have and that my deck is constituted form manly BLUE cards, he destroy my strategie and i barely have some chances to win !

i have 10 ISLANDs cards in my deck, as well as 5 MOUNTAINs and 5 SWAMPs. for some card i have that need it, i also added 1 FORESTs. the rest are monsters from different types and SORCERIEs cards !

too bad i'll have to do something about it !
i found another deck i would be glad to have...
its the same as his special deck, but its a deck from (i can't remember which city) but its a deck that was used in a tourney in 2002 or was it 3, oh well, its very recent !

and what do you think of buying a deck compared to buying a booster pack ?

i find it way better to buy the whole deck(60 cards) then buying the booster pack(10 cards) at the same cost !
tho i know the booster pack has better cards !

Your mixing too many colors into one deck. You should stick to 2 colors. And splash a 3rd color in the mix. Invasion was a very good block. But the Urza's block was ownage.

Masta is correct...2 colors max..."maybe" a splash of a 3rd color.

Personaly i prefer single colored weeny decks....use cards with casting cost of 3 or less for the majority of the deck, then throw in 4 to 8 medium to high casting cost cards that will finish off the theme of the deck...or the mechanics of it...or that will protect your decks "weak points"

I used to play this game about two years ago. Recently i gave all my decks and cards away. I could never get into the game, prolly cause i didn't understand it. Im not the type to sit down and play a card game for 20minutes to an hour. I remember the good ole days of Pokemon cards. Lol. Now that was a card game...simple and to the point . =/

BTW, is there anyone here who canexplain me MANA BURN and what's it really, cause its not really explained well in the rule books !

other then that, the game is pretty much awesome and easy to learn, i mean its as easy as placing your monsters on the table ! if you really want an hell of a game to learn, try YU GI OH, the cardas aren't even well explained and the rule book doesn't gives you enough to start a simple game !

i read many of the cards i had with my JOEY DECK and when i found on the net what was writen, they company said they changed it after realease because too many players were messed up ! that's an hard game to learn. but magic, its awesome and easy as 1,2,3 !

what i like the most in it, is the fighting system, how hard is it to calculate numbers under 10 ? :colgate:
unlike other games where for some odd reasons the numbers to calculate are all above 1000 !

as for the 3 colors in one, yeah, but i got so many good cards, my deck wouldn't have any choices but to be BLACK and BLUE ! cause many of the INVASION deck i bought are a mix of both DARK and BLUE !

my red cards doesn'T have many good monsters but does have lots of monsters to protect myself ! only thing they are good at ! tho i have many SORCERIES that are red and that i could use to wipe my ennemies life points without him being able to stop those damage !

you know, only problems with my INVASION cards, are the cost it takes to activate and use the abilities... its awefull how it is ! tho once the monster is in the field, its aneasy task to activate abilities !

oh well gotta redo my deck !
oh and on 110 cards, the only colors i have are BLACK, BLUE and RED !

Basically you have 6 phases during your turn. If you tap your mana and dont use it before the next phase. You will "burn" 1 point of damage for each mana you didnt use. The six phases during your turn in this order are... untap,upkeep,main phase, attack phase, second main phase, discard. During your untap phase you cant cast any spells at all only untap.

OK, that bring back some lost memory, but i do understand more th econcept now... but really, who would TAP his MANA just for the fun of it ? those who do are stupidos !
