What this topic has to do is what the world warriors tournament setting should be at, for example, should we start off with a preliminary with divisions, or not with divisions, then after tally up the points, then rank the players to fight whoever? Or should we have it like ToC1, where we just have 2 divisions, place who fights who by their rank, or should it be another straightforward tournament with round robins? And Remember, DO NOT VOTE UNTIL YOU HAVE READ THIS TOPIC, I can't stress that enough, people never read the main post to get a perfect idea of the topic, and end up making a stupid mistake.

Preliminary format: If we chose the preliminary format, then this will have to come first in tournaments, this is good, so we don't have arguments about fighting against someone they dont want to(but I dont know why you wouldnt want to fight them, or else you wouldnt even be in the tournament in the first place). This is where me might see what true skill is, the first ranked player might not be the best in the preliminaries, and someone ranked at 4500 might even be at the top of the preliminaries.

The bad thing about preliminary formats is that it takes a very long time to get all the matches up, so I have to put up a date in which the preliminaries have to end, but then most of the users will have tallied 0-0, meaning they didn't fight at all, and this is even if I send them e-mails. Ewalk had preliminaries, and his tournament was cancelled, so I'm fearing that this is a bad thing(only due to the lack of players actually battling in a fight).

Round Robin format: Single elimination, double elimination, or Bye-round, whatever it is, this is the classic format of any tournament, be it the NBA, the NHL, the MLB, Tennis, Chess, this is where there is a bracket put up, and you have to play against someone that is on the same bracket as you.

Ranked: If we have the RRF ranked, then it'll be by the players top scores, so the matches will be which will be really hard to do, since It'll take a long time to get which rank the players are, and ranks easily change within the minute, I'm not too sure about this, even though ToC1 didn't have much of a problem with this. But wait!!! I have the search button! This might not be a problem after all!

Unranked: People are randomly chosen on who fights who so even you're rank 1, you might fight a rank 2(saying that there are 8 people in the tournament), so it wouldn't be the traditional 1 vs 8, and 2 vs 7, 3 vs 6, etc.... This would be good since it will only take about 5-10 minutes to sum up the brackets.

Please vote seriously, and like a professional, I don't want any posts that will offend others, or posts that have nothing to do with the topic, thank you for your time.

I would go with Round Robin Format since its the easiest and the Plimanary's is not that good and the rank one its just rank. Most of the time the #1 fighter is not a noob but most of the other time it is, So rank isn't that good and Random I am not sure about. I guess I can go with both Round Robin Format or Random.

go with the Round Robin Format unranked. it seems simplier to do aside from the other two and can be done in a shorter time.

if you want you could use one i came up with (well the one i used for my tounreys)

it depends on how many ppl joined ur tourney. if it's an even number that can be divided up into about 8 groups, then it will work.

you divide everyone into groups/divisions evenly, and name them divisions 1-8 or w/e you want. then get all the fighters in the sections to fight each other in a WT style, and then do the WT rules of adding up the scores. then, the winners of each division fight each other in a bracket style. div 1 fights div 2, div 3 fights div 4 etc.

just thought i'd tell ya =/

Kingryu, I discussed that with KKS earlier today, if we have the right amount of people, we can do the divisions(Like Ewalks Ryu's Drunken Brawl

well... i can't really vote, cause i cannot make my mind about it.

i just don't care that much about how i'm gonna be placed in there !
because i'm sure that i'm not even gonna pass the first brackets or matches !

anyway...
i would go with a random kind of match-up, cause i dont, liek the idea of a ranked system, ranks just not show anything right now except how many times you actually play !

so a good old RANOMIZED match-ups would be the best i presume !

Well, I don't think we should do Prelims. It would take pretty long and, possibly, not everyone would fight. I think it should be unranked. Rankings change so much that the person you have at #3 might be at #12 by later in the day (#12 is still good, but I'd rather be #3). Besides, sometimes rankings make someone look better, or worse, than they really are.
Example: When I found out I was against PrivateMike in ResidentEvil2's tourney i looked up his rank. it was 449 so i thought i had nothing to worry about. i didnt train as hard, and slacked off quite a bit. On the day of the match I looked up his rank. Much to my surprise his rank was *GASP* 56!!!! Needless to say, I was crushed.
That taught me not to take my opponents for granted. So, in conclusion, I think it should be round robin unranked.

(Wouldn't I be great for a high school debate team?)
