I also like rock because there aren't as many one-hit-wonders in rock as there are in rap. In rap there seems to be people that come and go, and with the exception of a few, most of them seem to fade away after one or two singles.
I also dislike the fact that just because rappers might be successful, they think they can act, too. dubya tee eff is it with rappers in ########ty movies these days? Ja Rule? DMX? Eminem? None of them can act their ways out of a paper bag.
Also, there appears to be a lot more run-ins with the law with rappers than rockers. Rockers get in trouble for a little bit of drugs (we never hear about rockers getting busted for drugs nowadays) and trashing hotel rooms. Yet it seems like nowadays every rapper there is is getting busted for something. Juvenile (i think) a few weeks ago for possession of cocaine and marijuana. Puffy getting busted for some shootings. R. Kelly for fcuking a 14-year-old, possessing child porn, and possessing "indecent photos." Constant lawsuits and hearings about rappers beating women and shooting people and such. You NEVER hear about ######## like that from rockers. And when was the last time there was a west-coast/east-coast rivalry in rock music? Hell, when was the last time two rockers were killed by supporters of the other's band?
Also, playing instruments takes a WHOLE LOT more talant than hitting the "Demo" key on a keyboard and recording it, or hitting a drum four or five times and repeating it throughout the song.
Also, for some reason, rap is constantly redefining language in the US. What is "word up?" They can't say "what's up?" What is "peace out?" They can't say "later?" What is "phat yo?" They can't say "That's cool?" What is "bling bling?" They can't say "money?" What is "foshizzle my nizzle?" Why does Snoop Dogg talk like a fcuking moron with more "slang" than english? Why can't they use normal english instead of fcuking ebonics? I just don't understand.
