There aren't four books in the series. That's why it's called a trilogy. You may be thinking that The Hobbit is a prequel, but it doesn't belong in the series.

Faramir is a marvelous warrior, but doesn't quite match up to his brother's abilities.

More will come of him in the Return of the King.
