Ryu perfected the Hadouken, nothing else. At least Ken perfected the Shoryuken and somewhat the hurricane kick. Akuma, he perfected the Dark Hadou, it self. Sakura, is unique with her rising Hadouken and even Dan has some creativity. But Ryu is the Basics. If you are starting out, use him. But comparing, he is the basics. Ryu's endings always have him looking for a good chalenge. I remember one ending where he faced Akuma and lost. Even in the #### movie he is afraid of him. Ryu blows. Ryu = Hadouken, Hadouken = Cheapness, Cheapness = Being a Wuss, Being a Wuss = Ryu.
