Air combos honestly aren't any harder to do with the six button layout. It just means you have to shift your fingers over when you do them. And with most characters, the standard air combo is identical. But the thing that bothers me about the four button layout, is that it makes it a pain in the ass to use characters like Cyclops, that have MP as their launcher. Now you HAVE to hit them with something else first to start an air combo, and I don't like doing that. How effective is dashing in with a crouching LK, anyways? Anyone with any kind of experience will see it coming from a mile away, and block it.
And the infinite assists...that's just encouraging cheapness. It wouldn't be so bad if you could actually punish them for abusing them, but the assists recover their health fully (and quickly), unless your opponent tags them in. I think that if you blast an assist with a super while they are on the battlefield, they should recieve damage the same way that the main character does, and not have a red bar that fills up the length of the health bar where they took the damage, that regenerates WAY too quickly, and 15 seconds later it's as though you didn't even do anything to them. And what happened to having your main character stop in his tracks while the assist does his/her thing? Now you can be jumping and call one out. That's cheap.
