tmyapp started his work on XMvsSF cause it was the best VS game he had seen. but then, WE (players) asked him to do new things like helpers. so he telled himself:"dubya tee eff, i'll just do what i judge good for the game" and then it started to look more and more not like the real arcade game.
in a post i already made myself asking him the question you asked.
here is the answer he gave me...
TMyApp:"XMvsSF is only a name like others, but let's say this would rather became Marvel VS SF"

conclusion:
yes, the name doesn't go with the game that we will end up. but it sure catch your eyes didn't it ?
anyway, let be serius, this game was called XMvsSF cause at the start it was suppose to be it, but update by update WE changed it to our likings and TMyApp didn't think that changing the name would be 1st on his TO DO LIST !
