??? Let us just debate using the DBZ characters as they are in the Vegeta saga for now, and then gradually move up to see exactly where things go awry for SF.

If Akuma can sink an island with a single strike of his hand, then his energy can most likely do some SERIOUS damage if he unleashed the total amount on the land. Here's something to think about, too...

Do you know why DBZ energy blasts can destroy planets? It certainly isn't because it is powerful enough to do it on its own. The largest blast made by an actual explosive attack was Vegeta's Ultimate Skill (literal translation), where he self-destructed himself. The crater was about 1km wide.

DBZ energy blasts can destroy planets because they are made to penetrate stone and hit the CORE. Hitting the core with a huge blast of energy throws EVERYTHING out of whack, from magnetic fields to tectonic plates. It starts a tectonic meltdown of the planet, eventually resulting in a massive explosion as the energy in the middle of the planet from the blast detonates itself. So you see, it is all about location of the blast that determines its ability to destroy planets.

Now then, let us begin with the Vegeta saga...

Raditzu
SF has the edge on DBZ. Using Shin Akuma as the SF posterboy, think of Tensou Kaireki Jin. That thing can destroy entire boats in a single swipe with ease. If you don't know Tensou Kaireki Jin, it is his SFIII: 3rd Strike super where he raises his hand, and then karate chops with a burst of his patented purple energy going everywhere.

Vegeta
Shin Akuma still has the advantage here. Reasoning here is that he would be able to see everything coming and evade it with his teleport move. They aren't moving so fast as to be out of detection for him.

Ginyu
Even. Shin Akuma could take the Ginyu force (once again the teleportation deal), and Ginyu himself could take Shin Akuma.

Techincally, Akuma could take ANY, and absolutely, inarguably ANY villian in DBZ PERIOD. Shun Goku Satsu is not based on power, but on the target's past deeds. Shun Goku Satsu would send anybody, from Vegeta to Furiza, from Cell to Buu, to Hell for a moment, and kill them instantly. M. Bison didn't do #### compared to those guys, and he was insta-killed.

So, in conclusion...

Akuma > DBZ characters who have done evils
Akuma <= DBZ characters who have not done evils
Other SF <= DBZ characters regardless

So, rather than debate as a whole is DBZ or SF is better, I say we split the debate up into targeting specific DBZ and SF characters from specific times in the respective series, like SFII Ryu versus DB Goku (1st tournament).

Akuma owns everyone.
