ost_uid0="viper2040"]well, heres my system
Player1 was the winner, and
had a higher rank.
Player 2 is the loser. And we're assuming that they are both using registered, non-"player" names (ie: player64)
(2*P2's points)
----------------------------------- minus .75*(rank difference)
(wins)
~~~~~~Player1:~~~~~~~~Player2:
score=~~16946~~~~~~~~~16146
rank=~~~9~~~~~~~~~~~~35
wins:~~~111~~~~~~~~~~526
losses:~~32~~~~~~~~~~~122
Player 1 wins
score:
32292
------- = 64
526
64-(.75*26)=44.5
Player1 gets 45 points (rounded up)
Additionally, there would be a minimum score system as follows:
Rank Difference~~~minimum score
to prevent negative scores)
1-50~~~~~~~~27
51-200~~~~~~~23
201-500~~~~~~19
501-2000~~~~~14
2001-5000~~~~11
5001-10000~~~~8
10000+~~~~~~~5
so, if this happens,
player 1 player 2
rank = 1 rank = 13000
points= 6000 points = 345
the winner will be player 2
790
---------------- - (.75*12999) =
-9726
45 (including the lose he already got)
the score becomes the min for a rank difference of 12999--4 points
Beat that[/quote]
I have a system that might work better then the current one, and there would be no need for points.
My idea is this, have rank based off of your record, or to be more specific your win percent. Lets take my record for example:
W: 442 L: 100
If that was put into a percent, it would be 81.5%. Now, after you have figured out everyone win percent (this could all be kept track of automaticly like the current system does now.) you would just put them in order from highest to lowest with #1 at the top, ect.
Of course, even this system would be effected by lag. Anyway, with this system, it would be a little easier to see who the better fighters are without having to worry about all the points.
