I play against traps that include Cable's Viper Beam, Blackheart's Dark Thunder, Storm's Typhoon thing, Ryu's haduken, or Zangief's Lariet. I avoid them all with 1) super Jump, then jump when your at the peak of the super jump 2) Slide (d+2k) 3) BLOCK 4) never going into corners 5) having a good assist with you (such as megaman's Projectile assist which goes through most special attacks, and normal attacks) 6) Rush drill (duh!) 7) flower bomb the world, until it dies. That's usually how I avoid Traps with Roll. You see, unlike everyone else, Roll needs to be an evasive type of Character, and not to be used to go head on into battle. It just isn't right.
