Two problems can cause this. It could be a port issue (like described above). If it is, try changing the 'local port' (in the options menu) to something other then 1626 (port 80 could be a good idea, since it is a standard port which is accessible trough most firewalls). Or, the Shockwave engine is unable to get your real/proper IP address. If this is the case, try changing the 'local IP' field (again, in the options menu) to the proper IP of the computer you are using. if u dont know which port to use The best way is to check with your network administrator. If you can't (or you had no luck) there is still a way to find out.

If you DO NOT have the "I am behind a firewall or a proxy" box checked in the options menu (under the "network" tab) and you CAN connect to any/all of the chat servers, then you should be able to play the game on port 1626 (the default/standard port). hope this helps u.
