actually Blanka09... Yoda himself said that he failed miserably cause he couldn't match the emperror !
in all cases he did tryed his best but couldn'T match his strenght. higher ground or not, he just couldn't match him... BTW remember what yoda says in episode 5 ? nothing is impossible for the one who wields the force. thus being on a higher ground normally wouldn'T affect the force thus he wouldn't have a difficult time repelling them !

know what i like the most about yoda ?
the fact that unlike the other, he uses the force to actually fight and uses it all the time. after all a creature of his age cannot fight like that unless he uses the force to propel himself. in JEDI KNIGHT (the game) there is a power named ABSORBSION. i like the fact that yoda uses this power.

in any case, yoda was leet... but not leet enough to defeat the emperror !
too bad if MACE WINDU had killed the emperror the whole war would have been solved !
