No, I never said that. I said if they can act then let them act.
So, you think it's okay that basically, producers and directors are being racist when choosing their roleS?
Quote:
You act like it's only the black people. Uh, nobody knew who DiCaprio was until Titanic...and he was in tons of movies before it.
I really don't know what you mean by that, since it doesn't really support your point.
It's like if you say don't eat cows, I say you should eat cows, then you say "yeah, but cows walk on four legs"
???

Because the writers choose to write a shows with mostly blacks or whites or whatever because it relates to them.
Relates to them?
IE they write the roles stereotypically?
Or is it that the writers don't believe in intigration?
Quote:
They write how they see the world or how they grew up in it. If a writer wrote about something they knew nothing about...they would probably get a lot of critiques saying how off the protrayed someone. If you want it to change maybe you should start to write some shows.
does that justify token black charectors, or token white charectors?
IE: Does that make it okay for the cast to be 99% black and one white guy, jeffersons style?

Well, ok there was that Talia show or whatever it was called on Nick and there was that show about a hispanic family and this little boy was the main character...The Brothers Garcia. And there are always soap operas to look at...they are usually full of different races...at least Passions is. It may not be a leading role but it's something. I'll even use Dora the explorer...
Those arn't shows led by latinos.
When I say led by latinos I mean "The Drew Carry show"
as in their name is in the title, not something like the brothers garcia which has 5 unknown actors portraying a fictional family.

The practice, Las Vegas, UH....we can even do reality shows such as America's next top model and how about law in order?
Reality shows?
First off, relity shows SUCK.
Second, the only reason they have charectors that are true to life is because it's REALITY. No poop they're gonna have a real interpritation of racial struggles, or a mixed cast, becuase it's reality, and they try to make it REAL.

You just said it...Friends. And how about ER? Even that new one Gray's Ananomy. Even Will and Grace...it's not about Will or Grace it's about both of them and their friends.
ER is also on at 10:00, since they deal with REAL issues.
And will and grace's gimmic is they have gay people on it, not mixed casts.
Quote:
Alias has a hispanic woman and a black man.
GASP. One freakin hispanic women and a black man.
Do you realize what that is? That's tokenship.
They have to have atleast ONE minority on their show, which still isn't proving your point.

All my children has a latin doctor and a black doctor and latin nurse and the Black doctor's husband and an adopted black kid with his black gf.
Yeah, and also airs at 12:30 in the afternoon where only old ladies and stay at hoe moms watch it.

Jack and Bobby takes place in current years....and there's the black guy who likes the white girl.
As I said before, they have to stick true to the story of those damn kennedy boys.
Quote:
But without the African guy...who would be to protect...what would be the plot?
I saw a commercial for that movie.
Guess what I saw?
The entire commercial only showing white faces and ONE white hand, clutching a sniper rifle.
Racism? You betcha.
