I don't hate TarkanX, you, or anybody else in this forum.
Tarkan is one of the few people that starts intelligent threads. The only reason I reacted the way that I did was because his post rubbed me the wrong way. I don't like being condescended to, plus it seemed somewhat hypocritical of him to come down on me for ripping on a n00b. But anyways, I'm over it now. :biggrin:
To be completely honest, it doesn't bother me the slightest bit when someone like God Gouki gets in here and starts talking trash. This is the "Challenges and Tournaments" section, after all. If there was a place to make a claim of greatness, isn't this it?
Everyone around here acts all self-righteous in this forum, like they are incapable of stupidity, but let's be honest. ####, I will. Sometimes after beating my friends at Tekken, Marvel vs. Capcom, etc., I'll make cocky statements like, "Dude, you suck," or, "You ain't got no skills." They say similar things to me. And you know what? No one gets upset or offended, because it's all in good fun, and furthermore, it's just a game. Sometimes it's downright hilarious. One time I was playing a friend at Tekken 3, and he picked Eddy Gordo, and I was like, "Oh, I KNOW you didn't just pick Eddy Gordo! Dude, you are so dead," or something to that extent. He ended up winning two straight rounds, and he didn't let me hear the end of it. But I wasn't mad; I had it coming, after all.
How many of you, when you are playing your friends, sit there in silence and say, "Good game," after you're finished? I don't buy it. If you're halfway normal, you probably talk trash back and forth to each other over who's better (even after you've lost). Or maybe I'm the one that's abnormal, I dunno. But let me set the record straight on how I feel about cockyness and trash talk. I think it's FUNNY! It makes the game interesting when I go into the chat room, and somebody says something like, "I am the best, you all suck, etc." If you play them and win, you can rip on them; if you lose, well ####, it makes you want to get better so that you can beat them in the future (and tell them they suck after you've done so :biggrin: ).
I like it when someone tells me I suck, in the chatroom or in the forum. It makes the challenge more worthwhile, and gives meaning to the phrase, "throw down the gauntlet." Plus...well...I like to talk trash, too. There, I said it. If that makes me immature, stupid, or a (*gasp*) n00b, then so be it. Just know that when I do say something rude or obnoxious, that 90% of the time I'm not truly serious. I don't have a personal problem with anyone, and certainly not someone that talks a little trash here and there (seeing as I do it, too :biggrin
