i belive ur right reptile....cuz usually when i fihgt ppl..they say i move way fast....cuz they hit me with a special on their screen...tho i mightve already moved...so its kinda true
my connection is cable-its always around 100Mbps
tho once in a while it will drop al the way to 12 Mbps..thats when im at my worst
You've got to be kidden me... 100Mbps??!?!?!

I'm hosting a server and a BOT... and technically, my PC AND connection are pretty fast. My present connection is at 4Mbps / 384 kbps. In other words, that's pretty fast. And that's the normal (max... so to say) speed I surf the web and upload... ala send packets of data. Then even a 12 Mbps is extra ordinarily fast.
Basically you get speeds of 100Mbps for your LAN activities... period. I'd like to know your ISP and how they're able to provide you with THAT much speed.
Anyway, the connection does matter a bit. However, what REALLY matters are the specs of your computer. Think along the lines of memory and your video card as well. How much FPS can your Comp produce. Those are the main things that matter.
If someone has a faster comp than you, it's only logical that they send more packets of data your way. You might think this gives them the advantage... but, a slower connection would be able to recieve to its own capability. In english, if your connection says I can recieve only at 4k per second, then that's what you'll be recieving.
The remain 32k that your opponent with a faster connection sends (assuming he sends at 36k) would be lagged and sometimes lost (thus you'd hear of loosing packets of data from time to time  )
However, it goes both ways. You'd only be able to send a fixed amount of data... say 5k; so no matter how fast your opponent's Connection is, he'll only recieve what you give him. So even though he can download the packets at say... 40k, he'd recieve the 5k and have his game running normally.
So in reality, a good connection is okay, but it's all about the PC you're playing the game on. That's what gives ppl with 2GB of RAM an unbelieveable advantage to others with say 256MB of RAM (which is minimum requirement to a good computer for gaming)
Merci Boku
