tip1. a border always makes it look professional and 'complete' add a 1, 2 or 3 pixel banner... use the pencil then hold SHIFT... click and drag at one direction and it will go perfectly straight as long as you hold down shift...
tip2. experiment with Layer> Layer Style... its usefull for your fonts
tip3. a beggining blending technique is the blur and eraser tools... put the eraser at a very low strength and stroke the edges.
otherwise it looks good, try out some filters... and using the brush tool takes more time to get used to so give it time...
