ok try this... use a more thicker font make a 1 or 2 sized stroke... use a gradient with the same nuanace as the banner then make a beveled and emboss with size 1, make sure the stroke line would differentiate from the rest of the banner... otherwise u can make sum blending changes mayb a thin outerglow
