I like this idea, because it would be nice to see people with true skill hold the top spots in the rank, and not just n00b killers. I'm not excusing myself, I've been down that road before, but let's just say that I realized how...pointless it was. The only way #1 can stay at #1 is to kill n00bs, and lots of them (and if you're not willing to do it to stay on top, someone else surely is). It's the same way with most of the top 10ers, unless they are lucky enough to catch a fight with someone ranked higher than them when they are playing. Why should 'The Best' have to bust their asses just to stay on top? Isn't that what the top scores are supposed to be about in the first place, to see who 'The Best' is? If this idea were to be implemented, surely the most skilled players would participate, so you would still have to earn those points. If there were weekly (or perhaps even bi-weekly) mini-tournaments, this would eliminate 2 of my biggest problems with this game.
1. N00bkillers stay on top
2. I would finally have a challenge.
But I would also like to propose that 2nd and 3rd prize be awarded 500 and 200 points, respectively. Excellent idea, MVC2.
