[color=#000000ost_uid9]All right folks, the lag is just getting silly for me. I have a fast system with lots of memory. I have a fat connection to the 'Net. Although I normally run behind a firewall, I've tried hooking up to the cable modem directly, with no changes. I've even tried just using dial-up, to bypass anything to do with my network card. I've also made all of the recommended configuration changes to the game, and tried all the combinations of settings I can think of. It's slightly better running the installed client rather than the web version, but only slightly.

I [bost_uid9]still[/bost_uid9] lag like a mofo.

I can't have a lot of variety in my games, because if I don't play someone like Cyclops or Sentinal that has a beam attack, I typically am not going to hit anyone. No matter how many times I hit on my screen, it just isn't hitting on my opponent's due to lag.

I'm at a loss. I like the game, I've donated money to support it, but it's almost to the point where I can't play it any more. If someone can offer me any further suggestions, I'd love to hear them. Right now, about the only thing I can think of is that the game might not be 100% compatible with XP Pro SP2, but I'm not sure about that either. And yes, I've turned off Windows Firewall, disabled the unnecessary services, yadda yadda. I really [bost_uid9]do[/bost_uid9] know what I'm doing, I've just exhausted all the avenues of approach I can think of.[/colorost_uid9]
