ok so if your an illegal immigrant can you still get a job, own a home and so on and do you pay taxes?
I think that they way it works whether people want to believe it or not it is like this. If you want a state to protect\govern\allow you to have rights, you have to become a citizen. In essence the state/country and the individual must meet halfway both agreeing on certain terms.
For example: the governemt will enforce law, give you rights, protect those rights and so on, in return the citizen or person wanting to become a citizen must follow the set rules of that society, i think also the individual has to be productive in that society as well.The individual has to have a job pay taxes.
I think what it comes down to is that if the individual and the government don't establish the rules and meet half halfway the individual in essence has no rights or protection and the government losses the productivity that that person can add to the whole.
The question now is this, if the illegal immigrant doesn't meet half way regardless of the reason, should the government uphold any part of its end of the deal?
