Ok, I've noticed a large surplus of topics asking how to host pictures or make banners, and nobody has really made a nice FAQ to answer it.....so here it is.
-------------------------------------------------------------
<span style='font-size:14pt;line-height:100%'>Hosting Pictures</span>
Before you can post your own picture or animatio nor whatever, you need to host it on a web site.
All you simply need to do is get an account; and then you just upload the pictures to that web site.
Here are some picture/file hosting websites...
http://www.angelfire.com
(easy to use)
http://www.250free.com
(provides lots of space)
http://www.freewebs.com
(lets you host audio and text files, and also have a web site)
http://www.villagephotos.com
(I havent tried this one, but it seems to work for most people)
http://www.photobucket.com
(I used to use angelfire, but I like this one better.)
If you cant figure it out, there is probably an FAQ on that site.
----------------------------------------------------------
<span style='font-size:14pt;line-height:100%'>Showing others your pictures</span>
To post pictures in the forum you have to use a special code.
Ok lets say you just uploaded a picture to photobucket and you want to show it to everyone.
the picture's URL is
[code:1]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v186/kester-/42.jpg[/code:1]
To show up on the forum you have to put it with the code
[code:1][img] [img][/code:1]
So the following must be put in:
[code:1] [/code:1]
And when you post it, it should look like this:

If it doesn't work, or all that shows up is a red X, then you must have mistyped somthing.
You can also directly link pictures from websites that have already hosted pictures you are looking for, but when directly linking; things tend to be slower and might not always work correctly, so I dont recommend it.
-----------------------------------------------------------
<span style='font-size:14pt;line-height:100%'>Avatars</span>
Most people dont make their own avatar, they just take it from somewhere on the web and rehost it as their own.
To give yourself an avatar do the following:
1.Click "Your Control Panel" in the upper left corner of the forum.
2.Click the tab "Personal Info"
3.Click "Avatar Options"
4.Then at the bottom you can add your own avatar by putting in the URL for the locatio nof your picture.
5. You can also adjust the size of it. (max=64x64)
-----------------------------------------------------------
<span style='font-size:14pt;line-height:100%'>Banners or other pictures in your signature</span>
Some people personalize by making their own banner and putting it at the end of all their posts.
You can request to have one made for you here.
To put banners or pictures in your signature do the following:
1.Repeat steps 1 and 2 from above
2.Click "Edit your profile"
3.In the "your signature" box type the URL and the code that was disgussed earlier.
------------------------------------------------------------
<span style='font-size:14pt;line-height:100%'>Hey, what about those moving pictures?</span>
Ah, yes
There are di ferent types of picture formats.
.JPG bmp png GIF (the animated one)
.JPG is an interchangable format, it seems like the best to use when hosting images.
.bmp is just another format, but it takes awhile to load and it takes up more space.
.GIF is the extention you will want to use with animations; it makes still pictures really ugly though.
------------------------------------------------------------
well.....those are the basics
questions about how to make banners or avatars should be made in the banner/avatar sectio nof this forum.
I hope this FAQ was not in vain
And that it will help others

ok some of you guys may have noticed my game in my signature and the sound coming from it.......
thats right sounds....
with the new update to the forum came the ability to add flash to your posts.
this is a tutorial on how to use it in the forum....
if you want to use this tutorial you must be using mozilla firefox to get the right information....
<span style='font-size:12pt;line-height:100%'>step one: finding a flash movie/game/whatever....</span>
note: IT MUST BE FLASH OR SHOCKWAVE*............NOT JAVA
ok go to a site with a game or whatever embedded in the window......you can find alot at http://www.addictinggames.com.
while youre in that window hit ctrl+J......
then click the "media tab" scroll down until you find one that is type "embeded"......
then save as and keep it there.
<span style='font-size:12pt;line-height:100%'>step two: host it</span>
you're gonna want to use freewebs for the hosting...
host it
put it on your site as a flash file, NOT AS AN IMAGE!
when you're editing your site you should see a picture that looks like
thisok.......now you got it on your site......lets put i non the forum!
<span style='font-size:12pt;line-height:100%'>step 3: put it on the forum</span>
so now when you're posting......or in your sig or whatever just click "flash" its next to "image".....then just put in the info that it askes for.....
REMEMBER IT CANNOT EXCEDE 200x400 pixles

<span style='font-size:14pt;line-height:100%'>EDIT 3:</span>

------------------------------------------------------------
<span style='font-size:14pt;line-height:100%'>EDIT 4:</span>
<span style='font-size:13pt;line-height:100%'>avi to gif conversion</span>

<span style='font-size:12pt;line-height:100%'>other way:</span>
