RAM = RANDOM ACCESS MEMORY
thus the RAM is also a storage place, but it is a short term storage place generally holding these...

- the programs while they run
- Textures in some games when you don't have enough ram on your video card
- Everything that swap file can't handle !
- program variables
- Configurations

see... the ram is a storage place, or else why would more ram be better in a video card ?
its simple, textures are taken from hard drive, but to faste4n things a bit (not much) it puts them into RAM. but if there isn't enough space to hold the RAM it uses the hard drive which is basically twice slower then the ram itself !

trust me RyusRevenge, more then 256 ram doesn't change anything to the gameplay now a days ! same goes for the CPU ! it is more and more not needed since everything else in the computer can do the same as it does ! game wise at least !
