yet Chrono Trigger is still very played and talked about even today !
the remake on PSX is there to proove this theory, so basically RPGs comes very close if not more then street fighter II !

be my guess and continu to think fighting game were great back then ! they wer eonly because it seemed to be only fighting games and racing games in the arcades back then, nothing more !

for my part i liked adventure games more then fighting games, but it seemed like the company prefered the fighting games so they always replaced every other things for fighting games, and more then likely it wasn't changed on demands, as soon as a fighting game came out it was there, may it stupid or great !

in any case...

many RPG's that were on the SNES were great as well and are still talked much today. so i guess the fighting genre is long gone behind the RPG genre which will never be replaced !
