lol who said there has to be a purpose, and u first post person (evil)... u havent been looking round? mine was fairly short for some of the 4 page posts round here.
back to what i was saying.
its just unconceivable to me that you (not u in particular) need to have a purpose... how about this, your purpose is to live, die, maybe reproduce, and feed the future, it doesnt mean ur dead, it just means u dont remember nething lol.
another thing, if we are afraid of suffering and pain, and you can't feel death, then why did they come up with religion to make death more pleasing? thing is, are we just afraid to not exist? are we afraid of not being? are we afraid of the future? when you think about it, about the oblivion that might be, do you feel that tightening in your gut, that sense of purpose just vanishing? Yes, when I think about it I feel like that... but what i dont understand is why, WHY do i feel like that. What twisted combination of atoms created such a creature that can suffer just by life itself, or the lack of. to me... conciousness is a curse, and it makes no sense! if i exist, then why do i fear it? now i do have the other side of my brain that believes in the supernatural, and that there is something that helps out up there. so far, he/she/whatever has been "answering my prairs" to the letter, which only recently had got me to believe that there might be something to this "please god help me" thing. Maybe its that, or maybe i have an incredible power of psycho-suggestion that made everything turn out the way I wanted it, against all odds. Maybe people can actually shape their future, their life, and do what they want if their will is strong enough, if they think of it hard enough. funny that we dont know so much about the brain, so we will never know if we have these capabilities or not, or even if it does reside in the brain. lol, what if reality as you know it really wasnt the real world? what if you were in a cavern strapped to a chair looking at only the shadows and projections of the world, not knowing what it really is like just as plato explained? what if youare living an illusion... the matrix? maybe, but well, that only takes us into an intricate labirinth of confusing ideas and faulty theories. so this is my philosophy, i live the way i live, i prefer ataraxia to trying to please a higher power, and maybe if i were a little anti-social i'd go with autarky, but well, lol.... im confused now... see! philosophy only gets u confused! one question, if you believe in god, ... where are the infinite number of souls that belonged to the dead? ... heaven must be crowded... where is heaven anywho? another dimension? like dbz? > c'' to explain one thing is to create another dilemma... tsk tsk.. silly humans lol.
I lived 10 years in the catholic central of the world, italy, and for 7 of those years i was forced to go to church and attend sunday school, giving me no day off lol... and every single time i was there... i felt like i didnt belong, even if i had been brought up with it... i just couldnt get into it, follow the crowd... i think ill turn to shinto.
Ah, you wanna see straight to the point? Check out some plato or socrates.
