are you stealing movies by recording them? do you own a tvo, vcr, dvd recorder or ne thing else? did you ever lend a game to someone that needs no cd and have them install it on their pc? have you ever liked a song off the radio and recorded it to tape? then they also should be considered theft. the thing is, when it comes to me, i really dont care cuz i really dont download music cuz i really dont listen to any, and what if someone is downloadin a movie for example and just wants a copy to back up what they have? is it legal for someone to rip their dvd? the software might be illegal but i've heard nothing about the act of. just as one can back up a tape one should have the right of backing up a song or dvd. if you consider this just data then the whole freedom of info thingy comes into play. there will always be a fine line between legal and illegal. for example, any anime that has not yet been bought by an american company can be legally fansubbed and downloaded. its just that the defenition of copyright infringement is so vague. i mean, hey if you use a char of a manga and make your own, doushinji for ex, the creators would be only honored... he he he actually i wonder what the p2p policy is in japan lol. anyway, i just think its hypoctritical for them to make downloadin' illegal when tv and vcrs arent.
