well...
here is what we can have near my home !

PHONE = 5.6K and less
DSL = 10k and less
ADSL = 256k and less
CABLE = 300 and less

anything above that is just too damn expensive for any regular home users like myself !

i am standing in the first category.
and dude, the lag also depends on how far the opponent is !

example, you live in new york, your opponent is in california... you are both on CABLE... the lag will be minimal.

you're still in new york, but the guy you play against in is hong kong. you'll have lots of lag, even tho you both are on cable !

see, lag is there, there is so minimal amount of things you can do to prevent it !
so why not just play has it comes ?
