Ahh... I see. I can help a bit more, then.

If you jump over Chun Li to her other side, and she never turns to face you (lag, usually), and she starts her lightning kick, you can get nailed for however many hits it takes to K.O. you. This only seems to happen if you try to get too close behind her (like she is also dealing damage behind her, but not with as much range as in front). Because she is facing, oh, to the right, for example, you get knocked forwards to the right (you may face the same direction, but what seems to matter is which way the attacker is facing).
