asshole: i don't believe in god either !
but christmas, or whatever name it would have, is still the whole tradition of being united because of a new era is coming along !

me and my family, if not for the presents and gift are just glad, cause its the only 24 hours a year, that our whole family is united all together ! and that is what counts the most.

i know this doesn't andswer your question, even tho it might have been rhetorical. btu it sure explain why we can still celebrate even when we don't believe in religions ourselves !

merry christmas everyone, have the best 24 hours you can have, i sure will and i will be with you all, if not physically, at least mentally !
