He strikes a pressure point. The opponent is off-balance afterwards, and takes damage for a set amount of time. Hitting Gen lets the opponent regain balance.

Hard as anything to do, but it is possible to use the slight flinch each time the opponent takes damage while off-balance to keep combos going. Very hard to time, but looks neat when you do it. Start a combo, and towards the end of some hit stun, the flinch happens, and you could get an extra hit.
