"TOP SCORES FAQ

_ How does this work?

The "top scores" system for X-Men vs. Street Fighter (online) is also known as the "ladder", and its rules are quite simple.

Every player is sorted by the number of points they have. They will receive points every time they play someone online, and successfully finish a match (thus, see the countdown screen of the game).

-You will lose 10 points every time you lose a match.

-You will receive 10 points if you beat someone who has fewer points than you.

-If you beat a player with more points than you, then, your will receive half of the difference in the points between the two of you (so, if you have 10 points, and you beat someone with 50 points, you will receive 20 points for that particular match in addition to the 10 you already had)

_ How often do the scores reset?

Every time a new character is added to the game. The ladder went online on August 7th, 2001, and was reset the second time on October 8th, 2001 and a third time on Dec 24th, 2001 when Chun-Liwas added to the game.

_ I play the game, but my score doesn't change, why?

It could be a problem with your browser configuration. Please see our network FAQ for more info. Also, it may be the fact that you do not wait to see the "countdown screen" of the game after a match is over, thus, your score is never submitted.

_ Sometimes when I play the game, the other player leaves in the middle of the match and the game informs me that I win but I still don't see the score.

Even if the game says "you win", you still have to wait till you get to the "countdown screen" of the game after the match is over, even though the other player is not there, and he cannot "continue" the match.

_ I miss my old score, can I see it again?

Yes, click the "archive" button on the main page of the ladder, it will take you to the list of old top scores.
