because what most of the people, including myself, does when choosing a characetr, is not choosing by their cheapness or techniques... they took him and think he's the best because he is good looking !
AKUMA = EVIL, red hair, black uniform, etc... see, he's good looking, people don't care what he can do... they just care about his look !
by saying to VIPs that its there fault, is only because you got something against VIPs !

I do have a thing for Ken I won't deny that, but you have to admit people wanting either E Ryu or Akuma now have the added motivation to also want him to be able to counteract VIPs, just look at the votes there's only like about 12 votes between the top two! This could have easily be influnced by this factor which is why I place the vote blame on VIPs (hell if I was in a bad mood when I voted I would've picked Akuma for that very same reason)
Should be interesting though, I've always wondered how high priority akumas moves would be against E Ryu... and not forgetting maybe now we can get something called (shock horror! ) collition detection working properly with them on that air super fireball and the raging demon, which might I add was a big factor on why E Ryu is soo powerful because of it currently being...
