why do you guys call this a useless topic? I was hoping that people would see how good this topic is. Instead of asking a dumb question, this member has chosen to offer a bit of SOUND advice to other members out there.

Dreadlocks, I cannot agree more. Rather than follow the crowd, taking the road less traveled is more likely to get you recognition in the long run. While there is some merit to becoming an expert user of Ryu, that has been done so many times its worthless. Personally, I have skill with all of the characters, and cannot imagine how dull fights must get just using the same character every fight.

Oh, and one more piece of advice: Rank means nothing. You need to show how good you are by how well you fight.
