It turns out I didn't realize the red damage on...

It turns out I didn't realize the red damage on this game was fixed, not fractional, and so the opponent could use this to recover his health fully, thank you for your help.

I know about red damage recovery, I play mvc2....

I know about red damage recovery, I play mvc2. The problem is that all the damage I deal is red, so they recover all their health.

I don't know why but I can't seem to deal...

I don't know why but I can't seem to deal permanent damage to the opponent, I've hit them with super combo after super combo but they just switch out and recover it, is this supposed to happen?
