Video games today focus to much on graphics, leaving less gameplay experiences (except, mgs2). But some of the games today have online play. Graphics, length, or online. Back then it was just games like tennis or jump on the ice. wat u guys think? :buttrock:

A litlle bit of both u made good points. But I like the games today better, simply cuz im ignorant

better back then !
more inventive... each company were creating their own engines. today all the company do to save money is to buy other already made engines and used them to make their games, not to mention the story which usually are stupid ! and everything else in their games are already seen in other games ! EXAMPLE... - most of the RPGs of today ! - Q3A and UNREAL TOURNAMENT (The first UNREAL was a classic, i had stopped waiting for the second one until it came out, the TOURNAMENT series is just a remake of Q3A to make money and people fell for it) - JKII (was waiting for it, but was disappointed when i saw it, graphical to the end, not much of a story, not to mention that LUCAS ARTS took the engine of Q3A and SOF and putted themtogether. not really creative either) examples that still brings us more with little... - MAX PAYNE (the slow mo was great and waited, the story driven by still photo's and the like is awesome. and thus the fact that it is easily modded is great, really creative) yet even that fall short... - ENTER THE MATRIX, is entirely based on that engine, thus the lack of creativity ! CREATIVITY is what made the games up to today, but now a day it seems like all games are coming to be the same while there is still a lot of idea's to exlore ! fact is... its us the players who do not tell the company what we want so the company is forced to do what we play the most, and since it comes back to the same old games everytime, then the companies do the same old games because they are sellers ! where is the gaming industry going i ask you ! |

the graphics are good and it make it more realistic :D
|
Well the only good thing now is improved graphics...but I'd say games were better back in the day..especially the NES to SNES years..
|
Well in terms of storylines back then was better cuz the games had more of a point to them but in terms of graphics and gameplay today has some good games which are opening doors eg the GTA series that game series was the first series i liked and although the first one didn't have that much graphics it still rocks and mac payne is another ground breaking game especially with the kung fupatch and hitman mod
but as to which era i'm going to vote for i'm not sure yet |
Let me just say this.. The games back then had little sound effects for music. That means they had to get the most distinctive beats they could think of that had to sound good while being simple. That's why most games on the NES have such loveable music. Take Bubble Bobble, CastleVania, Zelda, Mario, Metroid, and Double Dragon for instance. All those beats will never die and the people who made them had to rack their brains out to come up with them. Kid Icarus... c'mon.. that music is phenomal compared to any crap they give us in today's games.
Don't get me wrong. Some games today do have fantastic music... but it's not as common as it was back then. |
Well I still can't decide so i chose null vote in my opinion game creaters need to take the graphics of today and try to come up with storylines like back then and mix the gameplay with back then and today. and try to eliminate all the bugs before releasing it. maybe there should be a website where kids can come up with storylines for a game and send it to game creaters of course the creaters will make the game and design it with the gameplay but it would be cool to have your own idea come out and as like a props to you they could input you as the main charachter or something like that or just have you in the credits
|
Back then. Cause there weren't unlimited continues. You had to earn them.Sooooooo.....
1 up for the good guy's |
