very simple...do you have the basic paint program for windows..if so your all set...bring an image into the paint prog..then "cut" and "copy" the section of the picture you want.then clear the original image from the screen(edit, select all, clear selection)...then grab the anchor in the lower right hand corner(where the original image ended),and make the blank screen as small as possible...then "paste".the cropped section you cut earlier.if the image is still too large for the forum avatar (wich is 35 pixels tall X 35 pixels wide)simply "select all" then grab the lower right anchor of the image and make it avatar size..(warning if you accidentaly make the image to small you will have to start over, you must not go any less than 35pxl X 35 pxl,or else the image losses quality when you expand it,and set it to the proper dimensions)once it is the proper size..click on the unused portion of the screen to show the bit map anchor button...then grab the lower right anchor of the bit map and bring it directly to the same dimensions of the image...then save the image...and thats how ya scale useing plain old windows paint :)

nosoul is there a way I can smooth the image out without making it look so cut up
