when people usually complain they always refer as peoples health not goin down as laggy people. by i just had a survey on sfo and people who play have very low pings. so what is causing this? it is obviously there computer. i have some guidlines to help your comp not to run sfo faster and make ever1 stop complaining!!!


1)scan for spyware: spyware are programs that download into your computer without you knowing collecting personal info about you and make popups and... makes me mad!!.

2)defragment: this sometimes helps people it moves and deletes files that dont need to be on your comp

solution: go to start, programs, assessories, systeam tools,disk defragment

3)turn off backround programs: this slows your comp down by takin up ram and makes you lag (high latency).

solution: turn them off or hold ctr, alt, delete and turn them off. there under user who is owns or is using computer at that time.

4)dont play music other then game music or not at all because it also lags things up and takes up your ram.

solution: turn it off :p

5) obviously clear browser cache

solution: go to internet options and well you know the rest

6)scan for viruses

solution: go to www.pcpitstop.com and scan for viruses and delete them. usually you can just go to search and find the virus' manually but if you have like 100 get mcfee or something

7) turn off firewall. firewalls just slow things down and you usually dont have to worry about being hacked unless you really did something to make hackers mad.

solution: turn it off

8) dont use nortan antivirus or firewalla AT ALL its poorly programmed and it slows things down when you dont even have it on

solution: on google search how to delete nortan because it cant even be deleted on add/remove programs

Sniper, what does defragmenting do??? (I use a shared computer) And i'm not allowed to delete stuff.

it cleans up registry it does nothing bad!!!! like old registry from programs that have been deleted and stuff like that so go ahead and defragment

i have adaware SE its good i had like 2 viruses thats why i was laggin so much and now i dont have any and also norton sucks it just tells me i have a virus and does nothing... and all the other things that u stated i do so.. pretty much thats why i mostly got a small ping and as for sounds i usally listen to music while playing and doesn't really cause lag.

defragmenting your computor, all it does is move things on your hard drive and moves everything from the middle and end into the begining and compacts it the space in between them, and it puts it all in order, running maitenence has no bad side affects and can only help, it speeds up your most used programs too. i recommend running it weekly or monthly, if youare one of those people who leave thier comp on, u could schedule it to run at night when u are sleeping or something.

im guessing not many do wat i just posted because i most people on sfo are havin slow computer or lag. deny it all you want people but you really do. what i posted will help alot!!!

defragmintion ususally doesnt do much.

its been proven, deframintaion makes your comp run smoothly for around 4 hours, then gets junk yard dirty again.

there is a "new and improved" form of defragmination, but i forgot what its called. it costs like $20, and it is said that you only have to do it twice a year to make your comp run smoothly 24/7
