There could be a membership thing--the game would still be free, but you could get additional perks (a la NoSoul4Evr) by paying a membership fee.

Some ideas for the perks:

Pre-release Priveleges--TMyApp could delay releasing new versions for one month; during that time, only paying members would have access to the new version. They would also serve as "beta-testers", telling TMyApp of any bugs found

Chat Status--They would have [full member] next to their names in the chat room

Board Status--They would have [VIP member], or something, next to their names in the forums room (see NoSoul4Evr for example). Possibly there could be a group for them--i believe groups designate priveleges

Exclusive Board on this forum, similar to the system used at gamefaqs.com (there are boards available only to those w/ sufficient rank)

Newsletter--sent to paying members, giving them secrets, info, and some fan site stuff made specifically for paying members. (Obviously, the fan site owners would have to contribute to this thing) Ie, projectz comix for paying members only. Also, they would have inside info on special events (ie, Night of the Sentinals)

And after it brings in enough money....
EXCLUSIVE SERVER!!!--With this, full, paying members could finally go to a chat where there are NO FLOODERS (who would pay for full membership, only to be banned?), NO ANNOYING "Players", and possibly the greatest feature of all, there could be a setting which only lets users with under 900ms ping in. (Admins--just make timeout setting to 900ms)

Along with this server...
EXCLUSIVE TOURNAMENTS!!!--Only for dedicated members of XMvsSF (ie, those who pay :biggrin:)

and finally, if possible,
Helper Priveleges (dont know if this can be done, but...) you could pick your helper from the options screen; thus, no more annoying combos which dont work all the time.


I would suggest a fee of $30 for 6 months ($5 per month) based on the fact that a sysop remarked that $50 per month would be a major help, so 10 users would be all that was needed.


Any thoughts? Most of the ideas at the top would be easy to implement, especially with that kind of money rolling in. 100 users=$500 per month=awesome game

Finally, to the Sysops: why not have a token banner ad on this site? it brings in money--gamefaqs.com has been doing this for years, and is still working fine.

So...how many people would sign up for this? Anybody like/dislike it? Sysops?

Not a bad Idea. :laughlong: It would not be = for all but hey would get some of the stress of sysop and help the game in certain ways.Also with that being said would reduce the amount of bitching people do.When a version comes out I mean come they are like ryu did this and that.With that being released to paying members a month in advance maybe there would be less complaint's.Thus tmyapp would be a lil more happy resulting in him getting some sleep and feeling good for when he wakes up and goes to work :biggrin: Now that banner stuff sure for the money.I don't think It would be fun if there is always a pop up though.Then people are going to complain and stuff.Now for that there topic I say good Idea.I see you put time and effort into this man nice :biggrin:

i like the idea of a special section on the forum (while it would be a bit useless right now since we only have 2 VIP Members) ... so.. i'll see if i and/or lefty can set that up in the next week or three...

own server and tournaments ?? again.. not a bad idea.. but we'd need a few more "VIP Members" b4 that would be worth it....

helper priveleges ?? maybe... (coding that "selection system" would be a pain... i'd rather spend time on --> ) .. new/hidden helpers JUST for the VIP Members ?? NO doubt... will happen :biggrin:

special/hidden playable characters JUST for the VIP's ?? well... let me tell you this... i'm VERY close to implementing it (even if tiz just for two people) :biggrin:

monthly charge ?? i don't think so either... (its not fair for someone to pay $5/month for a game that probably doesn't provide as much depth as some of the MMORPG's out there)..

it makes more sence to make someone a VIP and give them all the perks mentioned above for a one time donation...

if they throw $5 towards the game... it just to show they care... thus, i think they deserve the perks (since its 100,000 times more than what the "bitching users" would do)...

... now... for those who don't like reading... i'll also say this (again)... NO ONE will EVER make or even ASK you pay for the game... everything mentioned here is just "ideas" for people who want to become a part of the development team :biggrin:

Well, I must say, those are some nice ideas there, but its the paying thats a problem for me and other young, dedicated members who want to pay, but can't. I won't even bother asking my mother. She already doesn't like the internet, and was hesitant on getting it on our computer. I only wish that there was someway to pay you in manual labor. Unless you can think of a way to do this, I,(and maybe many others) screwed up with this VIP stuff.

and TMyApp: why no banners? gamefaqs has only one, and no popups, and to my knowledge that is their only income. it has supported them for a LONG time, and its only one banner. On a site as popular as this, it could bring in some serious cash.

Or...you could do a popup and tell people where to get popup killers :biggrin: (if youre feeling devious)

on a side note, wouldnt it be funny to get a popup for a retail popup killer?
