Today was the worst day of my life in xmvssf.

I lost to everyone that I fought. No matter how new or old, today I just plain sucked(no im not just saying this cause you beat me Nferno)
every n00b that came up to me got an easy win, prolly everyone I fought got an easy win. and after hours of pondering, I just can't come up with an explanation.
This has never happened to me before.

I even lost to someone that I have beatin over ten times straight!?!?
can someone give some kind of explanation???

Well that is easy. You are suffering from the 'Selvin' syndrome. I warn you depression comes and it may last a long, long time.

It took you hours of pondering to arrive at that conclusion.....Someone has too much free time :)
Well I used to Always beat Masterki Now I he has beaten me 4 times in a row....and it's not because he got better,it's lag of course....he did get better, but I can still defeat him......So KidKrazyShit, probably tomorrow will be a better day

KidKrazyShit 03-12-2002 05:24 PM

it was an exaggeration, but i was thinkin about it as I was doing other things.
oh and yes im sure it was MasterKi's lag, its gotten worse.

You think you have a bad time playing the game? I used to just plain suck, but now I have an even worse, more embarrasing (sp) problem.

<span style='font-size:8pt;line-height:100%'>Dan pulls out a little markerboard and draws two graphs: y=-2^x and y=-2^-x. He then labels the x-axis, "skill of opponent," and the y-axis, "performance of person." He then labels the first diagram, "Normal rate," and the second, "Dan's rate."</span>

Okay, see here, on the "Normal Rate" graph. This is how most people react as the skill level of the opponents' they face goes up. The person has more trouble, and the person's performance goes down because it isn't as easy to win against better players. Understand so far? Good.

Now, if you look at the graph labeled "Dan's rate", then you will note an odd curve. For some reason, my performance really, really sucks against newbies, cheap fighters, and all-around bad players. I'm still researching into the cause of that. But then... see here, as the skill level of my opponents go up, I do better! I win oftentimes, and I put on an exciting show for whoever I play against. Now then...

<span style='font-size:8pt;line-height:100%'>Dan puts the cap on his markers and puts away his materials.</span>

Who here can explain my odd trend in my fighting capabilities? It would be appreciated.

Selvin 03-13-2002 07:03 AM

It could be called a slump, people becoming better, people learning your strategy, lag hates you or it is just the 'Selvin' syndrome.

<span style='font-size:8pt;line-height:100%'>Dan angrily grabs Selvin by his clothes and tries to throw him into the wall, but can't move him.</span>

Aww... *pant* *wheeze*... stupid Selvin syndrome... but doesn't the Selvin syndrome mean you lose to EVERYBODY? Not just newbies and losers?

Selvin 03-13-2002 07:56 AM

Yes, you lose to everyone, n00bs, losers, trash talkers, veterans, friends, enemies, Web Masters. Do I have to go on??

asshole 03-13-2002 09:23 PM

Selvin, you can if you want.. :)

and

KKS, Ive also had those days... there are some players I used to defeat easily... but sometimes they just beat the shit outta me! (Everyone does.... on those days).

Razz 03-14-2002 06:38 AM
