Okay, a topic that doesn't have to totally do with the tournament. Anyways, I fought someone today, and used Cyclops against him(picked him on accident, wanted Wolverine). I did Cyclops optic blast strategy, and the person said I was cheap, and then quit, well, that is what exactly this topic is about.

If you think a character abusing their moves to the max is cheap, the listen closely.

When a character abuses their moves, they are left in predictability, that means that you obviously know what they are going to do next, and you can counter off that pattern. And Cyclops is a true exception.

Cyclops has only one strategy to win, yes you saw this, one strategy. He has no others, unless he doesn't want to win, purposely lose, or is testing something out. His strategy is, you guessed it, abusing optic blast into super.

There is no way Cyclops can't be cheap, because the strategy that Cyclops has that make him be considered cheap is his only strategy. If you told the user using Cyclops to not do his one and only strategy to win(repeating optic blasts over and over again), then that user might as well forfeit, because there'sno way in hell, unless that Cyclops user gets lucky, or his opponent just let him win, get the win.

If you've got any other winning strategies for Cyclops, I'd like to see it, because I'm sure there isn't any other strategy. Hmm... let's see...

Optic Blast(all punches): His only strategy

Gene Splice: anti airs dont work in this game

Cyclone Kick: One of the worst specials in the game.

Charging punch move: delay moves dont work in this game either, especially since his is slow.


Mega Optic Blast: One of the best supers in the game, part of his only strategy to win

Geometric Blast: Not as good as Mega Optic Blast.


His Normals, except for his HP/P3 on the ground suck, his air moves suck, he's got a good dash for scooting corners when the opponent super jumps to where Cyclops is positioned at, anyone, just tell em a strategy, and please don't act dumb when saying the strategy....

basically yes, if you want to be winning without being cheap is kinda hard... but hey, all of you sentinel user said that sent wasn't on for HAND TO HAND and i basically defeat my opponent on that strategie !

so i must say that no character are exception to that strat.
yeah you can go optic blast all the way till the end... but really, how can he win if he only has optic blast ?

no way he would win, except against a no skill fighter that a way or the other gets hit everytimes by it !

so i say... you're rightm he doesn't have much to offer HAND TO HAND wise...
but he does have good moves that if connect works pretty fine !

example...
dash in, LP, LP, LK, LK, , CYCLONE KICK, HP
that's a rape in the corner !

this is not possible, so you're mainly hitting air in that case !
but i answer you, if my rape is mainly hiting air, what make you think your optic blast does hit your opponent if lag acts the same way for you and i ?

simple.. by blasting all the way till the match ends... you're hoping to hit your opponent !
same goes to me, i do it... and i hope to hit my opponent !

also, there are ways to do it...
i mean you don't do the dash in, if your opponent just do hadokens, it sure to miss ! you better jump over him a few times and then rape him with it !

but i admit, its hard to do hand to hand with him... but it can be done easily when you do it the right way !

a good optic blaster like me..or link or A badass u cant do #### against...though i dont use him. so yes.

i am a good optic blaster but i dont use him as much i usually use ryu and wolverine :D

The only other strategy would be his HK attacks. HK, jump, HK. And even then you have a better chance on a sentinel(size). I managed to pull a lot of these combos on a sentinel one time and the other was "Whoa. I haven't seen that combo"

Cyclobs optic sweep totally neutralizes the hadouken and sends it back at Ryu but when e ryu and akuma overcome it by doing air fireballs toasting cyclops rain of terror ???

ugh... how the #### can you be a "good optic blaster"? =/ you can either do the move or you cant. you cant be a good optic blaster. imo, wat you just sed there is extremely dumb =/
