it's just an opinion and i am not OBJECTING to the rule, i too got bored of seeing old topics get revived !

but then again, by putting a rules like that without doing a FAQ, on HOW THE FORUM WORKS, is just plain stupid i think. why ? because people who don't know a #### and start entering this forum for the very first time (EG, me, a year and a half ago) will just do it and you'll ban them for not knowing it !

i think the new rule is justify, don't take me wrong about it !
i just think that making a HOW THIS FORUM WORKS is the primary thing that you guys should do !

ADVANTAGE:
- NEW COMERS will have an ONLINE HELP on what tose pesky buttons works !
- the fonctions will be learn !
example: how many people know that when you put the cursor over the topic and wait a little, it gives you the date it has been made ?

my personnal answer, not many !
why ?
because people don't wait before clicking on link !
the best thing to do is to dedicate a TOPIC that will stick on top of everything.
that topic would describe ALL the fonctions and how they work.

that way it will avoid lots more trouble !
perhaps i will try to make one sometimes.
anyway...

this is not an OBJECTION of the new rule, it is just an appropriate way to say that it is CRAZY if you don't tell people how this forum works first !

Lol... do you really give me/us that little credit? It's the same way as double posting... doing it is very BAD, but we'll let it slide when you're new and don't know much about the forum's features.

As for a forum FAQ... well you see that "help" button up their?

But feel free to do something like that at your own leasure...

Warrior, no disrespect, but I think it's a stupid rule also. You said "No reviving under no circumstances", what if someone wants to bring one back for memories? Or... someone wants to bring it back because they have a real good/important comment about it? I know you said to link it, but would you rather see a new thread startd saying "This comment is about that thread on page 69", instead of just reviving it?

So, I think yer rule should be modified a bit, I think it should say "No reviving if it's useless!"

Oh and Thanks Karma for starting this thread.

I have to agree with A$$hole.

DX Zero 11-27-2002 04:16 PM

i see no point in it, if the persons really annoying and does it multiple times then ban him.. but u cant just ban people just cause it annoys you, nope not a good arguement.. i mean, u encourage ##### to read old topics that has answers but they cannot not reply to them??

SSJKarma 11-27-2002 09:30 PM

seeing your arguments guys, i could also think about this being a bad rules !
but you see, lots of NEW COMERS (just to be polite) has been reviving topics for the sole purpose of saying:"I AGREE WITH YOU" on a thing that has been discussed about a year ago !

this kind of SPAMMING has really dimish this late 4 months but it's still a threat from NEW COMERS !
seeing it like this, i continue to say it is JUSTIFY !

EDIT:
i just thought of something. (ouch, that must have hurt)
the forum is set to SHOW ONLY, POST that are 1 WEEK OLD
meaning the argument of asshoie is still valid, but then the argument of DX is not, not even mine does !

people who don't see OLD thread cannot revive it if they don't know how this forum works !
see, this rule now, from this point of view.
is simply useless !

Tisk, tisk......Abusing his mod powers.............. I really hate kiss ass's.

sk8erfox805 11-28-2002 10:49 PM

btw if u havent notice if u go to the help section, u will see that a lot of topics have been deleted.. so the new ppl that comes here are gonna make topics about old topics cuz they didnt know..

i agree with asshole and karma . the rule is kinda of stupid
