I agree what he said, about the people only challenging newbies just to get a high rank, well rank doesn't matter, what matters is who's the best, but people try to beat newbies and get their ranks up. And they will aways deny a challenge from a good player(like me  ). So is there a way for the mods here to make two ranks, one for the one we already have, and another for the top 1-50.

Maybe it would be better if we had a point/experience system?

Like people, depending on thier rank, get diffrent types of exp.

For example, if say, I beat somone who is just a newbie, I don't get much exp at all, but if I beat someone ranked much higher then me, then I could move up and gain more exp. That way, you can beat newbies all day and not get very far, but if you play the good people then you can move up, or down :)

Cool idea, but how will the exp. points be determined, could it be like....

example.

say someone is 100-50

and I beat that person, (I will use a 3 times multiplier for this one), I will gain 150 exp. points, and if I face someone who is 1-0, and I beat him, I will gain 3 exp. points.

Thats a pretty good way of doing it, or it could somehow be determined on rank.

Based on Rank: We could leave the ranks the way they are now, and take your wins, subtract the number of losses from wins, then that is your exp. number. And when you beat someone it can either add there exp. to yours, or add half, or just add 1/3 of their exp. to yours. So if your exp is 3, then no matter what rank or where you are you get 1 exp. point. If it is 9, then they get 3 exp.

That way, new people with Skill can quickly move up with the better players, and people with no skill will begin to drop.

I don't know how, but maybe if someone beats you, and they are a much lower rank then you, then you could actually LOSE exp. But if they are closer to you or higher, then you lost none for the loss? That way anyone really high up there right now would fall even faster?

bump
....
can we do that?

Storm Rider 09-09-2001 07:36 PM

hey thats a great idea, it would be just like playing ladder on starcraft. for eg: everyone gets a rating of 1000 to begin and if u win, u go up and verse virsa. And if u play someone higher than u and u win ur rating would go up by much more.
