i CANNOT stress this enough, 0.3a is a BETA version of the 4 player mode, thus, it is full of bugs/problems.. so, go easy... post bugs once.... then WAIT for them to be fixed

over the next few weeks, the version will be touched and re-touched until it is semi-perfect... until then, feel free to use the "quick challenge" option, it should be just like the old versions.. same 1 on 1, tag-free (and less-buggy) action

also, a LOT of the features have been either disabled or not included in this release... some of these include:

-observers (disabled for now)
-game timer (set to OFF no matter what the options are)
-lag compensation (has NOT been tweaked for the 4 player mode)

and so on...

some of the known issues are:

-player control (somtimes the player does not respond right, or is "frozen" on screen)
-various graphic glitches (random graphics displayed or not cleared properly, palyers landing BELOW the ground, or some sounds NOT being played when they should be)
-various problems with the "Tag"
-rematch option may NOT always work
-various problems with joining/leaving/starting the new chat system (it is always a good idea to talk to the other players, to make sure they are there b4 starting the game, )

and so on....

after all said and done.. just... give it time... and all should be well

Even in practice I can't achieve a FPS rate of over 9 frames per second. All windows closed other than the game, no tasks running. Usually I get a rate of 18 frames per second or 20 frames per second, so it is about half as fast (FPS-wise).

Maybe that wasn't noticed 'cause you guys have computers that are nice and fast with plenty o' resources :cheesy:. If it'll help, I'll post tomorrow what the processor speeds and such of this computer is (don't know it offhand; gotta ask my older brother on that one and he is out right now).

yes... let me know what type of system u have...

as for performance, i will see if i can tweak it a bit more to speed things up

1 on 1 tag-less games however, should run @ about the same speed....

Hey TMyApp sorry to bother you but I notice that the select a character time limit is not working. Some guy name(drog2000185) is trying to make me quit he is continuously cursoring all three characters. I don't know if it was always like that but if should be fix in the future....good bye

BTW he was player 2

Also everybody is getting kicked for flooding when the didn't do anything. I just saw TurkeyX get kicked for nothing weird.

Well i just got done with a 2 on 2 tag match with:TarkanX and Lordcyris vs fear_tetsuo and Nferno666. It wasnt too bad, but it is alot harder to get out supers. The ping was usually 1000+ the whole game. I played 1 on 1 tag-free, and it still seems harder to pull off supers for some reason. And some guy can make chun li fly, literally. He hade her stay up in the air for atleast half the game. Well thats it for now. *tips hat, good job tmyapp*

Nferno666 03-31-2002 05:24 PM

the game ran fine with me...i got a fps of 37 on 4 player with them and supers were easy to do like usuall and i couldn't go in practice but i closed the game window and reopened it and the game inproved even more and it goesd as fast as it use too...i get from 33-39 fps in practice now

TarkanX 03-31-2002 05:30 PM

Well I have an average of 11 fps(which should mean thats its 2-3 times slower than the previous version). And sometimes, when we start a 4 player match, it stops at the char. screen, it's probably due to high lag.

manontherun 03-31-2002 06:09 PM

Or maybe you didn't listen to TMyApp... By not having the timer on (off) or having observers trying to watch.
