My computer has something wrong with it it won't let me open my computer or recycle bin and lots more. All it says is that i have an internal error and it will be shutting down the program. It only lets me open the internet and thats all. It started to do it after my computer went to sleep. What should i do? Help plz.

information overload. theres too much data on on ur computer, just be lucky ur able to reach the desktop, my problem was worst.

u should take it to a technician, have him look at it.

techinains are rip offs any other ideas.

SSJKarma 02-27-2003 05:08 PM

since i'm a technician, or at least suppose to be one, i'll try something to help you...

since you can open the internet...
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com
do a windows update if you never did it !
it will probably solves the problem.

ok, now if you can't do an UPDATE for some reasons, like perhaps it is already updated to its max.
then try those semi-solution.

try to completely shut off the machine, even unplugging the power cord from it.
why ?
because even tho the machine is powered down, it takes about 5-10 minutes for the machine internal componnent to completely drains from power ! once this has been made, plug the power cord and start the machine, if it still does it, then try to disable POWER SAVINGS in the BIOS !

that's about all...
if this doesn't work, you'll probably have to try and know which program caused the problem.
but the best solution is also the worst... FORMATTING / REINSTALLING the machine is a sure bet of solving the problem !

out of simple experiences with a lot of computers...
i must tell you this important information...
! NEVER EVER USE SLEEP MODE !
its not even saving power like it's suppose to be and it is the best way to completely screw a computer !
why ?
because even tho this technologie has been out for quite a while... computer componnents never were designed to work with that function. which means that fonction will probably screw-up the drivers of the components. which results in those kinds of things.

data really has nothing to do with it !
but normally, rebooting the computer should normally solves the problem !
as simple as that.

ok...
here's what i hint you to turn off...

- POWER SAVINGS features -
1 - SCREEN SAVER (that thing is just a big messing with ressources problem) it can easily screw your computer even tho it saves the screen.
2 - COMPONENT SLOWDOWN to save POWER... (aka, sleep mode) same as above, even tho it is usefull, it most then likely will get your computer screwed up !

not third, only those two are problems starters !
for my part, i always turn my monitor off before i leave, leaving it in a state where really no harms can happens to it !
and... to conclude, i'll simply say that POWER SAVING is not necessary for a computer because a computer doesn't take more then 12v which is like a CAR baterie... even your TV takes more juice then a computer !

so POWER SAVING = screwed up computers !
the best way to avoid it, is to not use it !

hope it helped !

You Probably deleted one of the needed files..

That's haPPened to me before, Win32.dll was accidentally deleted, and I kePt getting Internal Errors!

Solution: Re-format/Re-Install!

Elena 02-28-2003 03:02 PM

how do i do that?
Does it mean i have to reboot my whole comp? Since win98se came with my comp.

SSJKarma 02-28-2003 09:03 PM

you never installed your computer before ?
if that's the case... i suggest you go a technician or someone in your family that knows computer and has already REFORMATTED / REINSTALLED one.

doing this kind of thing by yourself when you never done it before is too hazardous for your computer.
not that it is difficult to accomplish, but experiementation is required or you're just gonna do lots of mistakes and ending with a NON-WORKING computer is not the best result either !

ASSHOIE: no need for formatting if that's the case, re-installing windows on the previous one, will result in keeping everything like it was and bring back the missing files !

EDIT:
question i forgot to ask you...

Q: when you get the error... what program is it saying have initiated the error ?

how to know that ?
when it gives you the eror, there is a MORE / DETAIL button in it... click it and a lot of info will be writen. look in the first line where it says "THIS PROGRAM "somthing" MADE AN INTERNAL ERROR"

if it is something like KERNEL32.DLL then you're up to formatting and reinstalling the whole computer !

why ?
because that's WINDOWS CORE !
basically, KERNEL32.DLL does 95% of the commands in WINDOWS including opening/closing things in windows !
