just my little boast thread...
between the " *** " are all sorts of specs on my comp...if you really dont care, scoll on down to the bottom... ************************************************** *************************************** getting 1 gig of HIPERF, KINGSTON memory.... details: 2x 512mB PC3200 DDR SDRAM HyperX High performance memory CAS Latency: 2.5 Timing details: 2-3-2-6-1T Gold plated Connectors And did I mention, it also comes with a free 16 mB usb memory pen type gadget thingie-ma-bobber all for $224....free shipping...try and beat that price ANYWHERE also recently got: AMD XP2600+ Processor ($97) Soyo Dragon KT-600 Plus Motherboard ($102) supports up to 1.5 gigs of pc3200 memory, or 3 gigs of ddr266 memory Anti-Burn Regulator (shuts pc down when cpu temp exceeds the temperature i specify--60 celsius) Oh, and did i mention Front side bus overclocking directly from the BIOS? Serial ATA harddrive, 80 gigs, 7200 RPM, 8 megs cache (maxtor) ($104) .....Life is good  other specs-- Ive got a Sound Blaster Audigy siter sound card, and a Verto nVidia Ti-4200 AGP video card, with 64 megs of ultra fast, 500 MhZ memory Antec TrueBlue 450 Watt powersupply, with built in blue LEDs... 2 rear UV sensitive fans, with one of them holding a circular cold cathode UV lamp....a side 80mmfan with 4 blue LEDs Processor goodies--a copper cpu shim to prevent cpu damage...Arctic silver Ceramique thermal paste for low temps, a Thermaltake ducting mod, and a Thermaltake "smart&silent" Volcano9+ cpu fan--speed up when needed, slows down when cpu is idle ************************************************** *************************************** Any thoughts?? If anyone wants to know where I find such good deals, Im MORE than happy to share my "tricks of the trade"... Also, Im interested to see what kind of systems people use here.... be sure to post your specs Edited By viper2040 on Sep. 24 2003 at 10:21 |
well...try pricewatch.com usually everything is cheaper there but if not then i guess those are good prices...i would check but i'm busy in school..yeah school at 8pm
|
PRICEWATCH?? bah, their best deal on ANY kind of 1gB kingston pc3200 ram was pretty high.....Kingston.com is having a special deal on HyperX ram, so that it is now cheaper than normal ram...but you have to go through their "specials" link or else they'll charge you full price, the bastards :p
and i am a tad wary of pricewatch, since people seem to advertise stuff they dont even have, or advertise it as something better, or mis represent the price....and no pics, either....ebay is better, IMHO, and in MOST cases, www.newegg.com is best of all....plus, with bigger parts, they give you better and better stuff for free--with the motherboard and processor, i got 2 REALLY cool pens... harddrive, and a tv tuner, i got shirts... |
some have pics and more of a description...depends on which company your ordering it from
well found the mem on pricewatch for a total of 204 with 2day fed ex shiping...hell even better ones for under your price Viper2040_: watch the double posts...you know better, man... Edited By viper2040 on Sep. 23 2003 at 23:43 |
heres the problem on pricewatch--they dont mention the timing specs, NOR whether it is actually Kingston branded or ValueRam (which undergoes less vigorous testing...)
for $20 extra, i get BRAND NEW, HIGH quality MATCHED ram, AND a usb memory pen... sounds good to me,.... |
that's why they include the model# and a link to the offical webpage to view the specs if it doesn't mention much on pricewatch

come on, people, lets see some computer specs here...
I'm interested to see how many people out there build pcs, and who bow down to Dell |

CPU : Pentium 4 1.7ghz celeron RAM : 512mb 266mhz DDR VIDEO : GeForce 4 MX440 TV/OUT (64mb DDR RAM) SOUND : VIA AC'97 WDM (onboard) HDD : 5400 RPM 20gb ************************** and if you think this is good for a system, just know that any P4 is easily beaten in speed by the PIII systems ! example: CPU : Real PIII 550mhz RAM : same as above VIDEO : same as above in speed that system beats my P4, i know tested at optimal performance by 3D MARK 2001 and it does about 1000 points better then me ! morality : don't buy P4 by AMD for now ! other example: a friend of mine who keeps his computer always in touch sent me a photo of 3D mark 2003 comparing his AMD to a P4.... the results... the amd 2000+ under clocked at 1.7ghz with same deal of memory, video and all specs identical except CPU and MOTHERBOARD, nothing onboard ! he easily got pass the P4 3ghz by over 1000 points ! SEE P4 doesn't stand to AMD right now ! don't buy those if you're gonna update, don't do the same mistake i did ! do not go for cheaper product as well, they aren't the best and will most liky get your computer speed down a notch ! that's all folks ! |
[quote:post_uid0="viper2040"]all for $224....free shipping...try and beat that price ANYWHERE[/quote]
does that mean you install it yourself? ------- i think i'm gonna have to check for some upgrades on this computer |
